Modern Masters at the DAM, May, 2-4pm
Maggie here, your EBCA activities coordinator, to see who wants to visit the Denver Art Museum to see the Modern Masters exhibit, Saturday, May 24, 2-4 pm.
This exhibit at the DAM brings together iconic artworks by Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Georgia O'Keeffe, Salvador Dalí, Frida Kahlo, and Andy Warhol as well as one of Jackson Pollock's finest drip paintings. More than 40 influential artists will be on view.
Curated by Dean Sobel, director of CSM, the exhibition is drawn from the collection of the Albright-Know Art Galley in Buffalo, New York, one of the most respected collections of twentieth-century art in the country. A special ticket gives visitors admission to the exhibition at the DAM as well as 1959: The Albright-Knox Art Gallery Exhibition Recreated, a correlative exhibition at Clifford Still Museum, February 14 - June 15, 2014.
Here's a chance to spend some quality art time with other EBCA members.
The visit will cost $10 for DAM Members. Non-DAM members who go WITH a MEMBER can also get in for $10, but otherwise it's $20 for non-DAM members. (DAM individual membership is $150 a year.)
If are a non-DAM member and you want to go with us to the museum, but you don't want to see Modern Masters, it will cost you $10.
They recommend reservations, so please respond to this email by Wed. May 21, so we can get reservations. When you RSVP, please mention whether or not you have a DAM membership.

EBCA's Studio Tour is held each year at the beginning of May. We are holding the tour for two consecutive weekends giving you the chance to see more studios. This year's tour features 27 local East Boulder County artists.
Our reputation for excellence is well known, and attendance and interest from the community continues to grow. Media categories include oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastels, fused glass, sculpture, ceramics, cast paper, bookmaking, art quilting, woodcarving, photography, collage and jewelry making.
Our artists open the doors of their working studios to the public for the weekend. Come visit us in Lafayette, Louisville, Longmont and Erie to learn about each artists' craft.
The 2013 tour was a great succes, thank you to all that participated!
Photograph Your Art Workshop
Come get the needed insight to create focused, high quality photos of your artwork. We will start the day with an overview of shooting 3D work and flatwork and then jump right into shooting your art. Bring up to 3 pieces of work, your camera, your tripod (if you have one) and any display props you would like to use. We will have up to 3 DSLR cameras set up to use as well.
If you decide that you'd rather have one of the photographers shoot your work, that can be arranged as well.
We need some props to make this work: pedestals, props for jewelry and other 3D work, shooting tents, photo lights. We also must have a sturdy wall for hanging the flatwork.
Contact Steve Gandy - 303-359-9836 - firstname.lastname@example.org to register and/or volunteer to help, bring props or help spread the word. Registrations are limited to the first 20 to sign up. If there is more interest we will schedule another date.
Date: Saturday January 12, 10am - 2pm
Location: Boulder Pro Photo Rental Studio, 1644 Conestoga St, Suite 5, Boulder 80301 (Come to the back door!) Click here for a map.
